Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Tony Nwoye has spoken on result of the just concluded Anambra governorship election in Anambra State.
Addressing newsmen, shortly after INEC declared Willie Obiano winner of the election, Nwoye said his party was free to take whatever decision it wished.
His words, “I accept the results myself but it may not be the stand of the party.
“I am sure that INEC really compromised. Imagine that the party chairman was arrested on the dawn of the election; party members were arrested across the state.”
However, state chapter of the party, lamented cases of ballot box snatching and other irregularities during the election.
“Certainly, we will look at these issues from the objective point of view, analyse them and come up with our position later,” Chuks Agufugo, APC secretary said
In his reaction, Sam Oraegbulam, state Chairman of Hope Democratic Party, HDP, said there was an improvement from the other elections conducted by the INEC.
“We do not have any argument with the results, even though, there are areas in the electoral process that need to be improved on.
“The vote was a reflection of the wishes of the people and it will be unfortunate for anyone to complain about the outcome,” Oraegulam said.
