The Southern Kaduna traditional rulers and Emirs have passed a vote of confidence on the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, stressing that they will continue to support him to succeed.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the governor at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna in appreciation of his wise decision to reopen the educational institutions after a long time of closure,the cheifs and emirs commended El-Rufai for careful observation of security situation in the southern part of the state.
In his remarks, the Chief of Kagoma, Col. Paul Zakka (rtd), described the Governor’s effort in bringing succour to the area as a great victory.
While commending the governor for his wise decision to reopen the school at appropriate time, Zakka assured El-Rufai led administration that traditional rulers from southern Kaduna are committed to, and in maximum support of his administration.
He said, “Mallam Nasir El-rufai has a lot of stuff for Kaduna state. With the previledge you have given to me to be a member of the security council, I think I know everything that is happening from the begining to the end and that is why when some of us had on the radio that his Excellency, the governor of Kaduna state has announced that the closed down schools in southern Kaduna to be immediately reopened, we were filled with Joy and happiness.
“You have studied the situation and have mastered the art of turning the defeat in the area to victory, we are gratful your Excellency.
“On behalf of all traditional rulers who are here this evening, let me say it loud and clear that all the traditional rulers here are committed to go along with you in this success lane,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the state governor who welcomed the traditional rulers said his administration has no hidden agenda over the action, recalling that, the earlier decision to lock down the schools was due to security challenges: “The students from the affected tertiary institutions lost nearly nothing,as they were diverted to main campuses in Kaduna to continue their studies.”
El-Rufai, expressed gratitude to all the chiefs and security agents over the improvement on security situation of southern Kaduna.
