BIAFRA: IPOB Members Shut Down Market, Clash With Hausa Community In Port Harcourt

Members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, have reportedly shut down Oyibo Market, burn Mosque and unleashed attacks on Hausa traders who flew for safety in Oyibo Local government of Rivers State.

According to an eye witness identified as Edward, the IPOB in their hundreds stormed the market after blocking Aba – Port Harcourt express way and Afam road and launched attacks on the unsuspected Hausa traders in the market.

“We were just passing and suddenly when we saw the IPOB members in their hundreds blocking the Aba – Port Harcourt express way and Afam road. The next thing we saw was serious attacks on Hausa traders.

When asked the number of casualty recorded so far, Edward said, “honestly, right now I cannot say if there is anyone killed or seriously injured and the extent of property destroyed because we later ran away for our dear lives from the scene.”

Effort to reach the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Oyibo Divisional Police Headquarters proved abortive at the time of filing this report as his mobile number was unreachable.
