Troops Intercept Suicide Bomber At Dalla Amidst Of Multiple Explosion In Maiduguri [PHOTO]

The Nigerian Army has said it prevented another suicide attack in Borno state, this time at Dalla village as troops of 251 Battalion, 7 Division on Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in the village killed a suicide bomber.

In a statement signed by its Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, Army said the event occurred at about 10.00pm on Tuesday after troops intercepted the suicide bomber who, it said attempted to cross through their forward defences.

Usman said “The suspect who still continued to approach towards the troops location was immediately neutralized.

“The Borno State Emergency Management Agency and the International Committee of the Red Cross have since been contacted to evacuate the suspect remains.

Three days earlier, Sunday 16th July 2017, our troops deployed at Mammanti, also averted another catastrophe when they intercepted and neutralized 2 female Boko Haram terrorists suicide bombers who tried to infiltrate and attack the village through troops parapet at about 10.15pm.

“Similarly, the troops of 251 Battalion also intercepted another female Boko Haram terrorists suicide bomber on Monday 17th July 2017 at about 1.49am between Cimari and No Man’s Land.

“This great efforts of the troops helped to save valuable lives and property. The public is please requested to continue to volunteer information to the military and other security agencies to help preempt suicide bombings and other atrocities by the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists.

Meanwhile, terrorists have reportedly detonated several bombs in Ngomari Costain, Mairi Kuwait and a housing estate close to the university of Maidugiri in Borno state.

At the time of filling this report, the number of casualty in the multiple bomb blasts has not been ascertained yet, although security operatives, according to reports have cordoned off the affected areas.

Recall that the rate of suicide attacks in Borno State has gone up of late, as Boko Haram, according to the Nigerian Army had developed new tricks of creating crowded scenes where they throw bombs to attain maximum effects.
